MEASURING

Always measure with a measuring tape, do not assume that your painting is a standard size.

Make sure to indicate if the piece is NOT squared. Also we need to know if it is bowed in the middle.

FILETS

A filet can be a little gold line or a linen liner on the inside of the frame.  It is a nice way to outline the painting.

FINISHES & ANTIQUING

First thing you need to decide is gold metal or real gold leaf because it will greatly affect the price of the frame.

MOULDING

You may want to combine mouldings and make a little sketch like this.

CARVINGS

You can make variations of the designs you see and a picture is worth a thousand words.

You can beef up your frame when you want your piece to hang flush to the wall.
